Ladybug Nature Walks
We are still doing the Nature walks around Portland's parks. We started a few weeks ago, before
everything started waking, now everthing is just stretching its little arms and begining to wake for the spring! I remember in Estonia the change from winter to spring was so slow, but beautiful. You could really see it as it happened by watching the
ferns open slowly for almost a month. It was like watching
miniature ancient plants retake the forest. Here in Portland, it is a little faster, but you can still go to the forest each day and see a little leaf open millimeter by millimeter, or the bugs multiply with each warming day. In Texas, the change is more dramatic--from everything all around you dull and grey--to a burst of colors and the great warm embracing air.
Today was the first sunny and warm nature walk--there is a video and
some pictures...
